In a significant move to strengthen the judiciary in Kebbi State, Governor Dr. Nasir Idris has sworn-in four new High Court judges and two Sharia Court of Appeal Kadi's. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi
The newly appointed judges, who were recently confirmed by the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC), include Hon. Justice Kwaido Muhammad Hassan, Hon. Justice Ibrahim Umar Halima, Hon. Justice Jagwadeji Lauratu Suru, and Hon. Justice Muhammad Nuradeen. Additionally, Hon. Kadi Kabiru Aliyu SAN and Hon. Kadi Muhammad Atiku were also sworn-in as Sharia Court of Appeal Kadi's.
In his remarks, Governor Nasir Idris charged the newly appointed judges and Kadi's to redouble their efforts in delivering justice to the people of the state and Nigeria as a whole. He described their appointment as meritorious, citing their hard work and diligence in their duties.
The governor also expressed his commitment to supporting the judiciary, promising to continue providing the necessary attention and resources to ensure its effectiveness. He mentioned that his administration had recently approved over N300 million for outstanding vehicle allowances inherited for judges and pledged to extend this benefit to those who were not initially included.
Governor Nasir Idris's administration has been working to strengthen the judiciary in Kebbi State, and this appointment is seen as a significant step in that direction. The governor congratulated the newly appointed judges and Kadi's, wishing them success in their new roles.
