-Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, joined his counterparts at the Progressive Governors Forum, PGF, meeting held in Abuja on Friday to deliberate on party strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, chaired by PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, took place at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. The governors reviewed the party’s progress and reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Speaking after the session, Governor Uzodimma said the forum had strengthened its strategic engagement ahead of the party primaries and the 2027 presidential election. “Today, I had the honour of presiding over a meeting of the Progressives Governors Forum, alongside my deputy and the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, with fellow governors of our great party in attendance,” he stated.

Uzodimma commended President Tinubu’s leadership, citing his commitment to national development, economic reforms, infrastructure renewal, and citizens’ welfare as reasons for the growing support across the country.

“In recognition of this progress, the Forum unanimously reaffirmed its endorsement of his second-term bid,” he said.

The PGF Chairman stressed that the governors remained committed to working in unity to deepen the party’s structures and deliver stability and sustainable development to Nigerians. “We are encouraged by the strides already made under President Tinubu’s administration and remain optimistic about the future of our nation as we continue to work collectively towards success in 2027,” he added.

Governor Idris was among the APC governors present at the meeting, which focused on consolidating party unity and preparing for the next electoral cycle.
