Birnin Kebbi, May 23, 2026 (Series News Online) — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured a commanding victory in the All Progressives Congress Direct Presidential Primary Election held across all 225 wards in Kebbi State’s 21 Local Government Areas.
The exercise, concluded peacefully on Saturday, drew massive participation from party members and supporters who turned out to reaffirm their backing for the President.
Governor Nasir Idris spearheaded mobilisation and supervision efforts across multiple wards to guarantee a smooth and orderly primary.
He was joined by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning and former Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and former Governor, Ambassador Sa’idu Usman Dakingari.
In Nassarawa II Ward, Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, APC members voted in their thousands.
President Tinubu polled 5,652 votes in the ward, highlighting his firm support base in the governor’s stronghold.
The Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, applauded members for their dedication and allegiance to the party’s leadership at both state and national levels while monitoring the process.
“I applaud party members and supporters for their dedication and allegiance to the APC leadership at both the state and national levels,” Kana-Zuru said.
He observed that the impressive turnout underscored the cohesion and resilience of the APC in Kebbi State.

“Kebbi people remain unwavering in their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris,” he added.
While speaking to supporters at Nassarawa II Ward, Governor Idris thanked APC members for their show of unity, affection, and solidarity with the party and President Tinubu.

He described the level of support recorded during the direct primary as unmatched.
“The level of support recorded during this direct primary is unmatched,” he said.
The governor pledged that his government would sustain efforts to bring additional dividends of democracy to residents of Kebbi State.

The governor’s team also stopped at Magajin Rafi Bello Secondary School in Nassarawa I Ward before moving to Kokani South Ward in Argungu Local Government Area, where crowds of supporters converged for the exercise.
Announcing results at Kokani South Ward, APC Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru disclosed the figures recorded.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu polled 2,500 votes in Kokani South Ward,” Kana-Zuru said.
He stated that Argungu Local Government Area delivered a cumulative 25,525 votes for the President in the primary.

Speaking at the event, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu thanked the people of Argungu and the entire APC family in Kebbi State for their loyalty and consistent support for President Tinubu and Governor Idris.

He said the outcome of the primary demonstrated the trust the people have in the APC leadership.

He further praised Governor Idris for maintaining party unity and offering decisive leadership.
