Birnin Kebbi, May 20, 2026(Series News Online)- The member representing Suru Constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Faruku Abubakar Maisudan, has been officially reaffirmed as the All Progressives Congress, APC, consensus candidate for the Suru Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The affirmation ceremony held in Dakingari on Monday drew massive jubilation and a strong show of solidarity from party faithful, political stakeholders, youth groups, women associations, and supporters across Suru Local Government Area.
The event, according to observers, demonstrated the overwhelming acceptance, confidence, and political trust reposed in Hon. Maisudan by constituents in recognition of his impactful representation and commitment to grassroots development.
Speaking during the exercise, the APC State Organising Secretary, Alhaji Zaki Yauri, formally affirmed Maisudan’s candidature, stating that the lawmaker had met all requirements stipulated by the Electoral Act and the party’s guidelines.
“I hereby declare Hon. Faruku Abubakar Maisudan as the duly affirmed APC consensus candidate for Suru Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections,” Yauri said.
Several prominent stakeholders who spoke at the event described Hon. Maisudan as a steadfast, accessible, and visionary representative dedicated to the growth and development of Suru Constituency. They include Alhaji Ibrahim A. l-Suru, Alhaji Abubakar Naingila, Alhaji Maigari Abdullahi Dakingari, Hon. Muhammad Lawal Suru, Hon. Umar Danfari Suru, and the APC Chairman in Suru Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Dandare.
The speakers commended the lawmaker for his contributions to education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, and other people-oriented programmes that have positively impacted constituents.
“We have confidence that Hon. Maisudan will continue to deliver quality representation and sustain his developmental efforts across the constituency,” Alhaji Abubakar Dandare said.
The stakeholders also pledged to mobilise massive support for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections to ensure continued progress and democratic dividends for the people.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Faruku Abubakar Maisudan expressed profound appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for the confidence and trust reposed in him.
“I assure the people of Suru Constituency that I will not betray the mandate and confidence given to me,” Maisudan said. “I will redouble my efforts towards effective representation, inclusive development, and the welfare of the people.”
He further called for unity, cooperation, and sustained support for the APC administration at both the state and national levels.
“Collective commitment remains key to achieving greater progress and prosperity for the constituency,” he added.
The event was marked by celebrations and renewed expressions of confidence in Hon. Maisudan’s leadership, grassroots connection, humility, and longstanding commitment to the welfare and progress of the people of Suru Constituency.
