The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kebbi State chapter is set to conduct ward, local government, and state-level congresses to elect new executives who will drive the affairs of the party in the state. This was disclosed to newsmen at a press briefing by the party's Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sani Dododo, at the PDP Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

According to Dododo, the congresses are in line with the party's constitutional provisions, which require 11 states, including Kebbi, to conduct ward, LGA, and state-level congresses. "The aim of our press briefing today is to inform all bona fide members of our great party, PDP, across the 21 LGAs of the state, particularly the leaders who have already been invited to come and receive their nomination forms for all elective positions from ward to state level," he said.
The nomination forms are to be filled out from September 3, 2025, and returned before 12 midnight on September 4, 2025. The congresses' schedule has already commenced, with almost 90% of the LGA chairmen having collected their nomination forms and returned to their local governments.

Dododo outlined the requirements for eligible candidates, which include acquiring a membership card from their ward, educational qualifications, eligibility to vote and be voted for, and a tax clearance certificate or receipts. The screening of eligible candidates will take place from September 9 to 11, 2025.

The party's electoral committee will be inaugurated on September 6, 2025, and the complaints/petitions committee will be inaugurated on September 17, 2025. The ward congresses will be conducted on September 13, 2025, with the announcement of results on the same day. The LGA chairmen's congress will be conducted on September 20, 2025.

The state-level congress is scheduled to take place on September 27, 2025. Additionally, the Appeal Committee for complaints and petitions will be inaugurated on September 24, 2025, and another Appeal Committee for state executives' election will be inaugurated on September 30, 2025.

Dododo explained that the congresses will be conducted in two options: voice affirmation or direct congress, where a candidate for chairmanship will stand, and supporters will join him. The electoral committee will count the number of people supporting each candidate, and the winner will be declared.

The party's Publicity Secretary urged all members to respect the provisions of the party's constitution during and after the congresses. "We wish everyone success," he said.
