Kebbi Govt Awards N2.17bn Road Contract to B-Tech Global Services

The Kebbi State Government has awarded a contract worth N2,174,633,33.21 to B-TECH Global Services Ltd for the construction of four access roads in the Mopol Barracks area of Badariya, Birnin Kebbi Local Government.

The contract signing ceremony was held at the office of the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, on Tuesday, September 3, 2025. The Commissioner explained that the project involves the construction of four segments of access roads and drains with reinforced concrete outfall drains in the Badariya Mopol Barracks area and its environs, which will also facilitate water drainage.

"This project is in line with His Excellency, Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu's policy of bringing development to the people," the Commissioner said. "Badariya is a densely populated area, and the Governor has directed that we intervene positively to address the development needs of the area."

The Commissioner emphasized that the contractor is expected to adhere to the terms of the agreement, particularly with regards to the quality of work. "We have engineers who will supervise the work 24 hours a day, and we have a road design plan, and we expect the contractor to work in their presence," he said. "The era of executing substandard jobs is over, and we expect high-quality work."

The contract is for a period of 18 months, and the contractor is expected to complete the work within the agreed timeframe. The Commissioner also noted that 40% of the contract sum has been approved for payment to enable the contractor to mobilize to the site.

The Commissioner also highlighted the importance of the defect liability period, which is one year. "Whatever happens within that period, we will call your attention, and you will remedy the work at your own cost," he said. "So, it's better for you to ensure that you execute high-quality work from the onset."

The Commissioner congratulated the contractor on the award and wished them success in the execution of the project. "As we have signed the agreement with you on behalf of the Kebbi State Government and people of the state, I will direct the Director of Civil Engineering to issue you a commencement order within two weeks after completing all necessary documentation," he said.

In response, the representative of B-TECH Global Services Ltd, Bashar Shamaki, who signed on behalf of the company, expressed their readiness to execute quality work and adhere to the timeframe of the contract agreement. "God willing, we will mobilize to the site within two weeks and commence work immediately," he said. He appreciated Governor Nasir Idris and the Ministry for Works for finding their company worthy and capable of executing the project.
