As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has extended warm felicitations to the President, Government, and all Nigerians on this historic occasion. In his goodwill message, the Kauran Gwandu underscored the importance of unity, patriotism, and collective progress in building a greater nation and a more prosperous Kebbi State.
The Governor reflected on Nigeria’s journey since independence, acknowledging the country’s cultural diversity as a source of strength while expressing optimism for a brighter future. "We must work together in unity, setting aside differences to ensure peace, security, and progress," he urged.
Governor Idris paid tribute to the founding fathers and all who contributed to the nation’s unity, even as he recognized the challenges that still lie ahead. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to piety, diligence, transparency, and patriotism in service to the people.
The Governor highlighted his administration's focus on key development areas, including education, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and economic empowerment. "We are constructing multipurpose, fully equipped mega schools to provide secondary education, skills acquisition, and ICT training," he stated. "We are also providing solar-powered irrigation pumps for year-round farming and free fertilizer distribution to farmers, among other initiatives aimed at bolstering food security."
Governor Idris called on the people of Kebbi State to renew their commitment to patriotism, selflessness, and prayers for purposeful leadership at all levels, aligning his message with the Federal Government’s theme for this year’s celebration: “All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
He expressed gratitude for the people's support and prayers, which, he noted, have enabled his administration to record modest achievements despite formidable challenges. "Let us work together to build a greater nation and a more prosperous Kebbi State," he urged.
