Bauchi Govt Sensitizes 2,834 Civil Servants for 2025 Promotion Examinations

The Bauchi State Government has reiterated its commitment to improving the capacity and efficiency of its civil servants through training and development programs. The Head of Civil Service, Barrister Mohammed Sani Umar, made this known on Wednesday while declaring open a two-day sensitisation workshop for 2,834 civil servants ahead of the 2025 promotion examinations.

According to Umar, the workshop represents a significant effort to strengthen the capacity and efficiency of civil servants in the state. "The vital role you play in delivering essential services to citizens cannot be overemphasized," he said. "This training is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in the forthcoming examinations and, more importantly, in your daily responsibilities."

The Head of Service expressed delight that similar workshops in the past have produced positive outcomes, noting that the pass rate in last year's promotion examinations rose from 75 percent to 83 percent. "This remarkable achievement is proof of the effectiveness of our capacity-building initiatives and the dedication of our civil servants," he said. "I am confident that this year's workshop will build on that success and drive further improvement."

Umar commended Governor Bala Mohammed for approving and releasing funds for the programme, describing his leadership and commitment to the development of the civil service as exemplary. He also appreciated Dugge Management Services Limited for their expertise and support in facilitating the training.

The Head of Service urged participants to take full advantage of the sessions, engage actively, and apply the knowledge gained to improve their performance and contribute meaningfully to the state's growth. "By investing in the growth and development of our workforce, we are investing in the future of Bauchi State," he emphasized.

For his part, the Permanent Secretary, General Administration Department, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Dawud Mahmood Yakubu (Esq.), praised Alhaji Gambo Magaji, Chairman/CEO of Dugge Management Services Ltd., for his support in ensuring that Bauchi civil servants are well-trained. "We are optimistic that the knowledge and skills shared during the workshop will have a lasting positive impact on the state's civil service," he said.
