The Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) has achieved a significant victory in its counter-terrorism efforts, neutralizing three high-profile terrorist kingpins in a carefully executed ambush operation within Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Captain David Adewusi, Media Information Officer for Operation FANSAN YAMMA, disclosed that "the ambush took place between Mallamawa and Mazau villages, located in the Tsamaye/Mai Lalle District of Sabon Birni LGA." This strategic operation resulted in the elimination of notorious terrorist leaders Kachalla Nagomma, Gurmu, and Ali Yar Daribiyar.
According to Captain Adewusi, "the recovery from the scene includes three AK-47 rifles complete with magazines, and a motorcycle." Intelligence suggests that the neutralized terrorists and their associates were in the area to extort ransom and collect illicit levies from local residents when they were intercepted.
The success of this operation has triggered widespread relief and celebration among the local populace, particularly in Mai Lalle, Tsamaye, Rimaye, and surrounding communities within Sabon Birni and Goronyo LGAs. As quoted by Captain Adewusi, "these communities have endured prolonged suffering due to the atrocities committed by the neutralized terrorists."
Operation FANSAN YAMMA reaffirms its commitment to restoring peace and ensuring security across the North West and parts of the North Central regions. Captain Adewusi emphasized, "the Joint Task Force appeals to the public for continued provision of timely and actionable intelligence to facilitate ongoing operational successes."
This latest operation aligns with OPFY's broader strategy to disrupt and dismantle terrorist networks in the region, building on previous accomplishments in neutralizing key terrorist figures such as Kachalla Na Faransa, Dogon Bakkwalo, and Auta Gobaje.
