The Nigerian Red Cross Society undertook an advocacy mission to the Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA) Kebbi State Office, located at No. 26 Jahab Plaza, GRA, Birnin Kebbi, on Monday. The core purpose of this initiative was to establish cooperation and synergy with WRAPA regarding a recently introduced program known as - PGI (Protection, Gender, and Inclusion).

At the helm of the Red Cross contingent, Mrs. Danjuma clarified that the PGI program is meticulously crafted to address gender-specific issues, particularly within communities dislocated by recent inundations. She stressed that WRAPA Kebbi was selected for this visit due to its laudable track record and vast expertise in championing the cause of women and children within the state. Mrs. Danjuma declared, "We are here to explore opportunities for partnership on the PGI initiative, which is a new strategic area for the Red Cross. Given WRAPA’s expertise in gender advocacy and its strong community presence, we believe this collaboration will make a meaningful impact."

Welcoming the delegation, the State Coordinator of WRAPA Kebbi, Comrade Nasiru Idris, expressed sincere appreciation for the Red Cross visit and affirmed his organization's openness to partnerships geared towards combating gender-based violence (GBV) and safeguarding the rights of vulnerable demographics. Comrade Idris stated, "Our doors are always open. We believe in a collaborative approach to addressing GBV, which often requires multi-sectoral coordination. WRAPA's services remain free and accessible to all, and we are committed to working with organizations like the Red Cross to bring relief and justice to affected communities."

The session culminated with a benediction led by Mallam Yau Danko, Data Management Officer at WRAPA Kebbi.
