"May Day Celebration: Kebbi Governor Announces Tinubu's Invitation to Commission New Complex"

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been officially invited to commission the Kebbi State ultra-modern Secretariat Complex, a monumental project completed by the incumbent administration of Governor Nasir Idris. The complex, designed to accommodate all government ministries, agencies, and parastatals under one roof, promises to provide a conducive environment for optimal performance and service delivery.

Governor Nasir Idris made the announcement at the 2025 May Day Celebration in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday, highlighting the significance of the project. "The edifice is an indelible legacy of my administration for the provision of a good working environment to civil servants to put in their best," he said. "I have invited the Father of the Nation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to come to Kebbi to commission it as a mark of honour to the state."

The Governor expressed gratitude to the workers for their invaluable contributions to the state's growth and development. "Your dedication and hard work provided the impetus and served as the backbone of the success attained in infrastructural and socioeconomic growth of our dear state," he said. "I will continue to protect the rights and privileges of all workers and civil servants; the administration will uphold their welfare."

Governor Idris also highlighted his administration's achievements in improving workers' welfare, including the prompt payment of the new minimum wage of N75,000, which is higher than the national minimum wage. "I am the leading governor to effect the payment of the new minimum wage," he said. "My administration is up-to-date and prompt in the payment of gratuity and pension to retired civil servants as well as death benefits to families of deceased workers."

The Governor further announced that the state government has purchased 200 housing units from the Federal Government for distribution to interested civil servants. "The government remains committed to tackling challenges and providing the necessary atmosphere where every worker will flourish," he said.

The Kebbi NLC Chairman, Comrade Murtala Usman, praised Governor Idris for his efforts in improving the welfare and wellbeing of workers in the state. "Your Excellency, you are a workers' hero," he said. "The NLC acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of the Governor for implementing various welfare schemes for the workforce."
