President Bola Tinubu has appointed Alhaji Abubakar Muhammed Kana, the APC State Chairman of Kebbi State, as the Board Chairman of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies . This appointment is part of a series of appointments made by the President, which also includes the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, as Board Chairman of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Hon. Fatuhu Mohammed Buhari from Katsina State has also been appointed as Director-General of the National Agricultural Seed Council.
Other notable appointments include Benjamin Omale, APC State Chairman of Benue State, as Board Chairman of the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu, and Rufus Bature, APC State Chairman of Plateau State, as Board Chairman of the Nigerian Coal Corporation.
The appointments are seen as a move to strengthen the leadership of various federal government institutions and to reward loyal party members.
As the APC State Chairman of Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammed Kana's appointment as Board Chairman of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies is expected to bring his expertise and experience to bear on the institution.
