Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Donates Food Items to 2,450 Vulnerable Persons in Kebbi

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has donated food items to 2,450 beneficiaries in Kebbi State, Nigeria. The donation, comprising 25kg bags of rice, beans, Masa Vita flour, tomato paste, Maggi cubes, groundnut oil, and salt, was flagged off by Governor Nasir Idris at the Government Warehouse in Bulasa, on Wednesday near Birnin Kebbi.

Represented by Deputy Governor Sen. Umar Abubakar Tafida, Governor Idris extended his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their support. "The administration is deeply grateful for the support of the Kingdom to the people of Kebbi," he said. "This is not the first time the Kingdom is coming to our aid, we appreciate the good relationship between us, especially on Hajj matters."

The Director General of NEMA, Hajiya Zubaida Umar, represented by Director, Special Duties, Hajiya Fatima Qassim, said the food items were distributed to lessen the difficulty of persons impacted by natural and human-induced disasters. "The King Salman Centre has entrusted NEMA with the distribution of food baskets for the vulnerable since 2018," she said.

The donation is part of the King Salman Humanitarian & Relief Centre's efforts to support vulnerable populations in Nigeria. The Centre has assisted several states in the past and has targeted Kebbi and Adamawa states for the current donation.

Deputy Governor Tafida assured that the administration of Governor Nasir Idris remains dedicated to uplifting the welfare of the people. The Director General of NEMA appreciated the King Salman Centre, the government, and people of Saudi Arabia for their compassion and benevolence to Nigerians.
