Alhaji Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kebbi State, has launched a personal philanthropic initiative to combat malaria in the state. This initiative is part of his foundation's efforts to address community needs, with a focus on promoting environmental sanitation and public health.

The third phase of malaria fumigation, flagged off in the Rafin Atiku area, behind the Abbas Jega Jumu'ah Mosque in Birnin Kebbi, aims to prevent malaria and ensure those affected receive necessary treatment. This effort is particularly significant, given the major public health concern malaria poses in Kebbi State.

During the flag-off ceremony, Alhaji Yahaya Sarki emphasized the importance of regular cleaning of drainages and curves, as well as the use of mosquito nets, particularly by pregnant women and children. He also appealed to well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to support their immediate communities through initiatives promoting environmental sanitation.

Community leaders, including Abubakar Sadiq and Special Adviser on Religious Matters, Engr. Imran bin Usman, praised Alhaji Yahaya Sarki's initiative, describing it as "quiet commendable." They urged other political office holders and well-meaning individuals to emulate his example.

Notably, this is the third fumigation exercise undertaken by Alhaji Yahaya Sarki's foundation in Shiyar Sarakuna, now extended to Rafin Atiku. Previously, he disbursed cash to 150 youths, elderly, and people living with disabilities, and sponsored drainage evacuation to curtail mosquitoes.

Alhaji Yahaya Sarki's efforts are inspired by the advice and good works of Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu. He plans to evolve Youth Empowerment programs in 2025, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of the people.

Special Adviser on Religious Matters, Engr. Imran bin Usman, and Alhaji Sanusi Zaki, also commended Alhaji Yahaya Sarki's philanthropic initiatives, expressing their joy over the gesture. They implored those in political positions to follow Alhaji Yahaya Sarki's example, emphasizing the importance of people's health. Mosquito bites, they noted, pose a significant threat to acute malaria, and Alhaji Yahaya Sarki's actions complement the present administration's commitment to combating malaria.

Alhaji Yahaya Sarki's personal philanthropy is a shining example of the impact individuals can have when they take initiative to address community needs. His efforts demonstrate the power of compassion and leadership in making a positive difference in people's lives.
