Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, Mourns the Passing of Renowned Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu (Rtd.)

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has expressed profound shock and sadness over the passing of Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu (Rtd.), a renowned jurist and retired Justice of the Supreme Court.

In a condolence message, Governor Idris described the late Justice as an honest and accomplished statesman, praising his immense contributions to the rule of law and judicial reform in Nigeria. "Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu was a man of integrity who served diligently and rose to the pinnacle of his career as a Justice of the Supreme Court, retiring with an unblemished record," the Governor said.

The Governor also noted that Justice Argungu's demise is a significant loss not only to Kebbi State but to Nigeria, particularly the judiciary, where his contributions to legal reforms and the administration of justice were invaluable.

Justice Usman Muhammad Argungu was laid to rest on Sunday in his hometown, Argungu, in accordance with Islamic rites. The funeral prayer was attended by senior officials of the Kebbi State Government, including the Emir of Argungu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Sama'ila Muhammad Mera, and APC National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.

Governor Idris prayed for Allah's forgiveness for the late Justice, asking the Almighty to grant him Aljannah Firdaus and bestow fortitude upon his family to bear this great loss.
