The Office of the Honourable Minister of Works has released a statement addressing recent criticism from the Chairman, House Committee on FERMA, Hon. Engr. Aderemi Abasi Oseni.
The Honourable Minister, Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi, CON, views the criticism as an "inconceivable embarrassment" and "vicious propaganda" aimed at inciting the public against the government. Umahi notes that he was not present at the meeting where Oseni allegedly addressed him.
Umahi highlights President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's efforts to address Nigeria's road infrastructure deficits, inherited from previous administrations, including 2,600 projects with a total cost of N13 trillion and a debt of N1.6 trillion to contractors.
Umahi defends the Ministry's priorities, emphasizing the importance of addressing inherited projects before embarking on new ones. Minister Umahi expresses gratitude to President Tinubu for his attention to bridging the funding gap.
