Kebbi State's First Lady, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, has launched a free testing exercise for diabetes and hypertension across the state's 21 Local Government Areas.
This initiative, themed "Know Your Number, Control Your Number," aims to create awareness about diabetes and hypertension, emphasizing the importance of early detection and timely interventions . The project targets screening 10 million Nigerians for hypertension and diabetes, enabling people to detect the disease early for effective management.
Hajiya Zainab explained that knowing one's health metrics empowers individuals to take control of their health.
Represented by Acting Head of Service Hajiya Aisha Usman, the First Lady emphasized the importance of early detection and timely interventions. The campaign targets screening 10 million Nigerians for hypertension and diabetes.
The state commissioner for health, Comrade Sama'ila, represented by Dr. Nuhu Koko, commended the initiative, reiterating the state government's commitment to improving the health sector.
The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar, represented by the district head of Diggi, praised the First Lady's efforts and assured the Emirates' support in mobilizing people for the free testing.
