Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, wife of Kebbi state governor and founder of NASARA foundation, has donated books, sanitary pads, and cash tokens to selected girls' schools in Kebbi. This initiative aims to encourage girls to remain in school.
Represented by her daughter, Hajiya Balkisu Nasir Idris, the first lady emphasized that the donation falls under the Nasara foundation's focus on vulnerable girls. "I want you girls to know that all of you can reach your potentials in life," she said. "This aid aims to boost your morale."
Many girls face obstacles to education due to early marriage and lack of support. However, the NASARA foundation is committed to helping them achieve their educational goals.
The state commissioner for Basic and Secondary School education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, appreciated the governor's wife for her gesture. The donation will boost students' morale, she said.
The principal of Salamatu Hussaini Government Girls Day Secondary School, Hajiya Aisha Adamu, praised the first lady as "mother of the orphans, the poor, and the less privileged."
Following the donation ceremony, the team visited Unity Girls College in Birnin Kebbi, donating books, sanitary pads, and cash tokens. The principal, Hajiya Murjanatu Attahiru Wala, thanked the first lady for the timely and unprecedented donation.
