In a historic ceremony held at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa today, President Bola Tinubu sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), following her confirmation by the Senate last week.
Justice Kekere-Ekun makes history as the 23rd CJN and only the second woman to hold this esteemed position in Nigeria's history. Prior to her confirmation, she served as acting CJN since August, succeeding Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
This significant appointment underscores President Tinubu's commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the independence of the judiciary.
