Bauchi, Nigeria, May 02, 2026(Series News Online)- The Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba, has lauded teachers in the state for their dedication, resilience, and contributions to educational development.
Baba gave the commendation in his 2026 Workers’ Day message to teachers, issued through a statement by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Mohammed Jungudo, on Friday.
He described teachers as the backbone of society, noting that they play a central role in shaping the minds and character of future generations.
“Teachers are the backbone of society who shape the minds and character of future generations,” he said.
The SUBEB chairman said teachers’ commitment to promoting knowledge, discipline, and excellence continues to drive progress and inspire hope in communities.
“Your commitment to nurturing knowledge, instilling discipline, and promoting excellence continues to inspire hope and drive progress within communities,” Baba stated.
He praised their sacrifices and tireless efforts toward raising the standard of basic education in Bauchi State.
“As we celebrate this important day, we commend your sacrifices and tireless efforts in advancing the standard of basic education in the state,” he said.
Baba added that teachers remain critical to the realization of a digitally transformed and quality education system.
“Your role in driving the vision of a digitally transformed and quality education system cannot be overstated,” he noted.
The chairman also acknowledged the interventions of Governor Bala Mohammed in reforming the basic education sector.
He listed the governor’s key initiatives to include recruitment of qualified teachers, continuous training and retraining of personnel, construction of new schools, renovation of dilapidated structures, and provision of teaching and learning materials.
He said the administration’s actions reflect a strong commitment to reviving basic education in the state.
“These efforts demonstrate the government’s commitment to restoring and strengthening basic education in Bauchi State,” Baba said.
He assured that the Board recognizes the governor’s achievements and remains committed to supporting teachers.
“The Board recognized and commended the governor for these laudable achievements and assured teachers of the Bauchi State Government’s continued support in providing an enabling environment and opportunities for professional growth,” the statement added.
