A deadly home invasion occurred in Birnin Kebbi's Badariya area early Friday, leaving a 35-year-old man dead and his wife missing. Sufiyanu Garba was killed in the attack, while his spouse was abducted by the assailants.
"We are deeply troubled by this tragic incident and have swiftly mobilized our detectives to investigate," said SP Bashir Usman, Police Public Relations Officer. "The Commissioner of Police has instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department to oversee the case, ensuring a meticulous probe aimed at rescuing the abducted victim and prosecuting those responsible."
Garba was pronounced dead at Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, where his body has been deposited pending further action.
The police are urging residents to report suspicious activities promptly, emphasizing that timely information is vital in preventing such incidents. "We assure the public that we're taking steps to bolster security measures statewide," SP Usman added.
