The Special Adviser on Special Duties to Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Alhaji Shafi’u Abubakar-Zauro, has brought relief to about 1,500 vulnerable members of Zauro community in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area with bags of rice and cartons of spaghetti.

"We inherited the culture of extending gestures to the less privileged in society from our father, leader and mentor, Gov. Nasir Idris. It is part of our responsibility to always identify with the needy," Abubakar-Zauro said during the distribution on Sunday.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to support the less privileged, following a tradition set by Gov. Idris. Abubakar-Zauro noted that several community-oriented projects have also been executed to improve the welfare of residents, including solar-powered street lights, boats for riverine communities, and scholarships for children from less-privileged families.
"Leaders at all levels should be judged by the positive impact of their contributions to the development and well-being of their communities," he said.

Alhaji Abbas Shehu, the Ward Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the gesture as unprecedented in the area. "This initiative reflects the governor's commitment to improving the living conditions of vulnerable citizens across the state," he said, commending Abubakar-Zauro for complementing the efforts of the state government.
Beneficiaries, including religious and political leaders, commercial motorcycle operators, persons with special needs, and other vulnerable groups, expressed appreciation for the support and prayed for the continued success of the organisers.
