The First Lady of Kebbi State, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir, has set an example for intending pilgrims by undergoing the mandatory medical screening for the 2026 Hajj process.
The screening, which took place at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, is a requirement for compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations. Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir emphasized the importance of leaders leading by example, stating that "it is a good thing for every leader to lead by example for the people, particularly the intending pilgrims, to know that the screening is compulsory for everyone irrespective of your status."
The Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro, led the medical team to screen the First Lady. He commended her for setting an example and urged intending pilgrims to comply with the screening process, warning that non-compliance will lead to disqualification.
"It is compulsory for everyone, and we will not allow anyone to proceed without undergoing the medical screening," Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro said.
The screening includes tests for tuberculosis, hepatitis, kidney function, psychology, and pregnancy, and is part of the ongoing exercise that began on January 26, 2026.
Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf, leader of the medical team, commended the First Lady and the Kebbi State government for their efforts in ensuring that more medical teams are deployed for this year's Hajj exercise. "We are committed to providing professional service during and after the Hajj exercise," he said.
The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency is prioritizing early preparation to ensure a seamless 2026 pilgrimage.
