Nigerian Kids Write Inspiring Books on Drug Abuse, Kindness, Honesty

Three young Nigerian authors have made their mark in the literary world with inspiring books that address key social issues affecting children and society. Muhammad Hamisu Abubakar, Fatima Muhammad Gumel, and Munawwarah Abubakar, all primary school pupils, have authored books that promote positive values and social consciousness among children in Nigeria.

Their books, titled "Tricky Pills," "Hurtful Deeds," and "Lies and the Dire Consequences: Pupils' Guide," explore important themes such as drug abuse prevention, empathy, kindness, and honesty. According to Ambassador Sani Muhammad Sani, promoter of the books, the young writers developed their stories under the mentorship of Mrs. Khadija Raji, a certified Child Development Practitioner and Assessor.

"The initiative, titled 'Empowering Young Voices Through Writing,' aims to promote creativity, literacy, and value-based education among children through storytelling and guided authorship," Amb. Sani said. "It also seeks to encourage peer learning and raise awareness on social issues such as drug abuse, honesty, and empathy."

Mrs. Raji, the mentor, expressed her delight in seeing the young authors showcase their talents and share their messages with the world. "We are thrilled to see these young authors showcase their talents and share their messages with the world," she said. "Their books are not only entertaining but also educational, and we believe they will inspire other children to express themselves positively through writing."

The books will be officially launched at an event that will bring together stakeholders in education, child development, and social welfare. The event will also feature school outreach activities, literacy campaigns, and the launch of an online platform for the books and related learning materials.

"These young authors are the future leaders of our society, and we are committed to supporting them in every possible way," Amb. Sani said. "Their work is a testament to the power of young people to create positive change in their communities."

The young authors are Muhammad Hamisu Abubakar (Primary Two), author of "Tricky Pills," a book on drug abuse prevention; Fatima Muhammad Gumel (Primary Four), author of "Hurtful Deeds," a story promoting empathy and kindness; and Munawwarah Abubakar (Primary Four), author of "Lies and the Dire Consequences: Pupils' Guide," a book emphasizing honesty and integrity.

These young authors stand as shining examples of creativity, moral awareness, and the power of storytelling to shape the minds of future generations.
