Gov. Idris Honoured in Mecca for Pilgrims’ Welfare Excellence

Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria –June 18, 2026 (Series News Online)- Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has received an international award in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in recognition of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of pilgrims from the state during the 2026 Hajj exercise.  

The award was jointly organised by three service providers involved in this year’s Hajj operations in the Holy Land: Musharik Azzahabia Visa Providers, Shuraka’ul Haira, which handled accommodation and feeding, and Daleel Al Mu’aleem Transport Company.  
Presenting the award on behalf of the service providers, Managing Director of Musharik Azzahabia, Muhammad Sultan, commended Governor Idris for his support to Kebbi State pilgrims.  

“The companies are proud to be associated with the Kebbi State Government in providing services to its pilgrims,” Mr. Sultan said.  

He also commended the Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro Enabo, for what he described as hard work and dedication that contributed to the success of this year’s pilgrimage.  
The award was received on behalf of the Governor by the Chairman of the Kebbi State Government Delegation for Hajj, former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, CG Jafar Ahmed-Jega (Rtd.).  

Receiving the honour, CG Ahmed-Jega commended the service providers for recognizing the efforts of the state government.  

“The Governor described the award as a great honour not only to him but also to the good people of Kebbi State,” he said.  
“According to him, this shows that the Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency is up and doing in the job assigned to him,” he added.  

CG Ahmed-Jega assured that the Kebbi State Government would remain committed to supporting Hajj operations to ensure the welfare and comfort of pilgrims.  

He was accompanied to the event by the Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro Enabo, and other members of the government delegation.  
In his remarks, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro Enabo commended Governor Idris for the total support given to the agency to diligently serve the state’s pilgrims.  

“The Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro Enabo, commended the Kebbi State Governor for what he described as total support given to him to diligently serve the state pilgrims,” he said.  
The occasion featured a night dinner and the formal presentation of the award to the Kebbi State Government delegation.  

The recognition, according to the organisers, reflects Governor Idris’s sustained investment in pilgrims’ welfare, logistics, and coordination during the 2026 Hajj operations.
