The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has empowered over 1,000 entrepreneurs and business owners in Bauchi State through its comprehensive training programs in business mindset, financial marketing, and access to finance. The foundation's Director of Programs, Mustapha Ango, revealed this at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi on Wednesday.
Ango explained that the foundation is committed to building stronger, healthier, and more prosperous communities in Bauchi State through various interventions, including technology skills, agricultural support, business formalization, and relief to vulnerable families. "Our focus is impact, not politics," he emphasized.
The foundation has trained over 1,000 entrepreneurs and business owners in business skills, with the sessions being practical, interactive, and designed to help businesses scale. Additionally, the foundation sponsored the free Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration of over 100 businesses in Bauchi, enabling them to secure legal status and access loans, grants, and formal opportunities.
Ango highlighted the importance of formalizing businesses, saying, "Many entrepreneurs in Bauchi operate informally, which limits their growth potential. Formalizing their businesses would ensure that Bauchi's entrepreneurs are not left behind." The Wunti Al-Khair Foundation aims to create opportunities that change lives while ensuring the most vulnerable are not left behind.
The foundation has also rolled out several initiatives across different sectors, including technology and youth empowerment through the Bala Wunti Technology Fellowship. The fellowship is designed to prepare young people from Bauchi for future work, equipping them with the skills, exposure, and networks needed to thrive in the technology-driven economy.
Recently, the Bala Wunti Tech Fellowship 2025 cohort embarked on a transformative industrial experience trip to Lagos, coinciding with GITEX Nigeria 2025. The fellows engaged with global and local technology leaders, explored emerging digital trends, and built valuable networks.
The foundation has also launched the Fertiliser for Farmers Initiative under the Bauchi Agricultural Advancement Programme (BAAP), providing fertilizer to 6,000 farmers across several local government areas. Ahead of the recent Eid-ul-Maulud celebration, the foundation distributed food essentials to Muslim faithful across different communities in Bauchi State.
Ango emphasized that the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation is a non-political, charity-driven organization, purely focused on humanitarian and developmental causes. He urged the public and media to verify information about the foundation directly from their office or official channels before dissemination.
