Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State - September 18, 2025(Series News Online)
The send-forth ceremony for Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ladi Maidawa Haruna was a deeply moving and memorable occasion, held at the Kebbi State Police Command Headquarters.
The ceremony was officially opened by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, Kebbi State Command, who warmly welcomed all guests and dignitaries. In his address, he celebrated CSP Ladi’s unwavering dedication to duty, highlighting her leadership as Officer-in-Charge of Surveillance and later as Officer-in-Charge of the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Desk, where she championed the rights of vulnerable women and children.
Also present at the ceremony was the Kebbi State Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence (TWG-GBV), led by Comrade Nasir Idris, who worked closely with CSP Ladi in advancing the fight against GBV. The team praised her passion, teamwork, and steadfast commitment to justice.
CSP Ladi's career was marked by steady growth, perseverance, and excellence. Born on June 20, 1970, in Riba Town, she began her educational journey at Riba Primary School before proceeding to Government Girls’ Secondary School, Moriki. She joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1990 under the then Sokoto State Command and, following the creation of Kebbi State, transferred her service there. She rose from the rank of Inspector in 2005 to Chief Superintendent of Police in 2023.
The atmosphere at the send-forth was filled with heartfelt tributes. Colleagues, friends, and family described her as a disciplinarian, role model, and beacon of moral uprightness. Many praised her fairness, mentorship, and compassion, noting that her service left a lasting imprint on both officers and the wider community.
In a moment that touched everyone present, her husband, when given the opportunity to speak, simply uttered four words: “She is a wife” and just handed over the microphone, a statement that reflected love, pride, and deep respect.
In recognition of her remarkable contributions, gifts were presented to CSP Ladi. The evening concluded with joyous celebration, refreshment, pictures, and laughter, symbolizing both farewell and thanksgiving for a life of service well lived.
The ceremony was more than a send-forth; it was a testament to a career defined by courage and dedication. As CSP Ladi departs from the police service, she will forever remain in the hearts of those she served and those she inspired.
