Kebbi State's Technical Working Group on Gender-Based Violence has lauded the state police command and Ministry of Justice for their decisive action against child defilement perpetrators in Zuru and Birnin Kebbi. The TWG's commendation highlights the authorities' unwavering commitment to combating GBV.
Comrd Nasiru Idris, Secretary of the TWG on GBV, emphasized that the swift arrest and arraignment of suspects demonstrate a united front against child abuse and GBV. "This coordinated response showcases institutional readiness and reassures survivors, families, and the public that justice will be served without delay," he stated.
The TWG's praise underscores the significance of this action in fostering a culture of zero tolerance for GBV perpetrators. By taking a firm stance, the authorities have bolstered citizens' trust in the justice system and law enforcement agencies.
The TWG, led by Her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasare Kauran Gwandu, has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to eradicate GBV. "We urge parents, guardians, and communities to remain vigilant and report cases promptly, ensuring a safer and more just society for our children and future generations," the statement added.
