Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has sworn in Garba Hassan Warrah as the new Commissioner for Mining and inaugurated Abdullahi Buhari Warrah as the Managing Director of the Kebbi State Mining Development Agency. The duo has been mandated to improve revenue generation from the mining sector.
The oath of allegiance and oath of office were administered by Kebbi State Chief Judge, Justice Umar Abubakar, in the presence of Governor Idris. The Governor charged the new Commissioner and Managing Director to up-the-tempo on revenue generation from the mining sector, noting that both are indigenes of Ngaski Local Government Area, where most of the mining activity takes place.
"No responsible government will joke about revenue, we cannot solely rely on federation allocation," Governor Idris said. "The administration spent a huge amount to secure the mining site in Ngaski, that's why we gave the two of you, sons of the soil, Commissioner and Managing Director to perform optimally. We want results, I believe in performance and results towards satisfying the yearnings and aspirations of Kebbi people, therefore, you must deliver."
