A Joint Taskforce comprising officers from the Nigerian Army, Quick Response Units, and Lokoja Local Government Hunters has successfully rescued 17 victims kidnapped at Apamaro in Adavi Local Government. The taskforce, led by Brigadier General KU Sidi, swiftly responded to the distress call and tracked down the kidnappers, rescuing all 17 victims.
The Lokoja Local Government Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, commended the quick response and gallantry of the personnel. "The joint operation is a testament to the commitment of our security agencies to protecting lives and property in Kogi State," Adamu said. He extended his appreciation to the Executive Governor, Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his support to the joint operation.
The rescue comes a few days after a successful mission in Ankomi, Tunga axis, Aleke, Angwan Sani, and Angwan Nyaba communities, where kidnapped victims were rescued and reunited with their families. The victims rescued from Apamaro have also been reunited with their families.
The Joint Taskforce's efforts demonstrate the effectiveness of collaboration between security agencies in combating insecurity in Kogi State. The rescued victims are breathing sighs of relief as they settle back into their normal lives, grateful for the bravery and professionalism of the security personnel involved.
