In a bid to strengthen grassroots development and empower young people across Adamawa State, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, National Vice Chairman (Northeast) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has fulfilled his promise to provide financial support to youths in the state. The initiative, which aims to recognize and resource hardworking and dedicated young people, has seen six individuals benefit from ₦1 million each, while six others from his immediate constituency in Rumde Ward, Jimeta, received ₦500,000 each.
The beneficiaries of the ₦1 million initiative include Khaleel Sajoh (Yola South), Anas Bala (Yola North), Hingino Bedan (Girei), Magdalene David (Michika), Faisal Mohammed Usman (Fufore), and Isa Garba (Mayo Belwa). Those who benefited from the ₦500,000 support in Rumde Ward are Safiyanu Adamu, Ibrahim Haruna, Umar Lawan, Ishiyaku Aliyu, Aisha Mohammed, and Abdullahi Ahmed.

According to Comrade Salihu, the initiative is not just about financial support, but about investing in the future, building loyalty, and giving young people the tools they need to succeed. "This initiative is not just about financial support; it is about investing in the future, building loyalty, and giving our young people the tools they need to succeed," he said during the unveiling of the scheme. "The APC believes in rewarding commitment and nurturing the next generation of leaders."

The program has been widely commended by community leaders, party stakeholders, and youth organizations, who described it as a historic and visionary step. "This initiative has the potential to inspire hope, strengthen unity, consolidate APC structures at the grassroots, reduce unemployment, encourage entrepreneurship, and foster social stability across Adamawa State and the Northeast," said a community leader who wished to remain anonymous.

The initiative also included leadership training for selected APC amalgamated youths across various youth organizations. Observers believe that the empowerment scheme could serve as a model for other geopolitical zones, offering a new approach to how political leadership engages with young people in Nigeria.

Comrade Salihu's commitment to youth development, social impact, and party growth has been consistent, and many believe that this initiative will have a lasting impact on the lives of young people in Adamawa State. The scheme is set to expand in October to cover ten beneficiaries, with further increases planned in the coming months.
