The Kebbi State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping, rescuing a 25-year-old man who was kidnapped by a gang of armed men in Kesan village, Shanga Local Government Area.
According to the Command, the kidnappers invaded the village at about 0500hrs on Friday, August 22, 2025, and abducted Abdulmumini Alhaji Ahmadu. However, upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Shanga, promptly mobilized a combined team of Policemen and vigilantes, who trailed the kidnappers and rescued the victim.
During the rescue operation, the victim sustained a serious gunshot injury on his left leg and escaped into the forest. The police have evacuated the victim to a medical facility, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani, reaffirmed the unwavering determination of the officers of the Command to maintain peace and stability in the state. "The CP however, called on the Kebbi residents to be vigilant and support the police and other security agencies with vital, accurate and timely information, noting that partnership between the security agencies and citizens remained sacrosanct in combating criminality in the state," said CSP Nafiu Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer.
The Kebbi State Police Command has continued to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and their property. The Command's efforts have led to several successful operations against kidnappers and other criminal elements in the state.
