"Kebbi Poly Introduces CNG Vehicle Conversion Programme, Rector Lauds Gov Idris"

The Rector of Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari, Dr. Abubakar Boyi Dalatu, has attributed the institution's steady growth to the unwavering support and assistance of the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.

Speaking at a news briefing on Tuesday at the temporary site of the institution, Dr. Dalatu said, "The support and encouragement from Governor Idris have reinvigorated the academic pursuit of the Polytechnic and improved its students' intake."

The Rector, who was flanked by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Abubakar Isah Tunga, and the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, highlighted the institution's achievements under Governor Idris's administration.

He said the Polytechnic has expanded training in cutting-edge technology, including vehicle conversion from petrol to CNG, and established a Skills Development Centre approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer 18 accredited trades.

"With a ₦500 million TETFund intervention, the Polytechnic has invested heavily in fabrication and workshop facilities, enabling students and staff to design, build, and test innovative projects," Dr. Dalatu said. "We have also sponsored staff to attend local and international training to stay ahead in their fields."

The Rector disclosed that the institution would soon open Study Centres across Kebbi State, bringing education closer to the people in line with the Governor's development agenda.

"These achievements have positioned Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari, as a hub for practical skills, innovation, and self-reliance," he added.

Dr. Dalatu advised youths, parents, and guardians to take advantage of the life-changing opportunities now available to study in the Polytechnic. He expressed confidence that enrolment would continue to rise, saying the student population has grown from 200 to over 500 in a short period, with projections to exceed 2,000 in the next admission exercise.

The Rector commended members of the management for their dedication towards the progress of the Polytechnic.

According to Rector,  the institution's growth is a testament to the Governor's commitment to education and development in the state.
