The Emir of Argungu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, is currently representing Kebbi State at a prestigious global conference in the United Kingdom. The event, titled "Demographic Dividends for Africa: Actions and Investments," is being held at Wilton Park, Surrey.
This high-profile conference has attracted a diverse array of influential participants from across the globe. The Emir is attending in his capacity as a representative of Traditional and Community Leaders under the Sultan Foundation Platform, with sponsorship from the Kebbi State Government.
Speaking at the event, the Emir emphasized the significance of the conference, stating, “This platform allows us to not only share our experiences but also to learn from what other countries and regions are doing to advance healthcare, education, skills development, and job creation in response to their growing populations.”
The Emir of Argungu further highlighted the value of the conference in enabling traditional and religious leaders to play a pivotal role in promoting and mobilizing support for globally and nationally significant initiatives.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for facilitating his participation through state sponsorship, noting, “This gesture reflects the Governor’s deep respect and high regard for traditional and religious institutions.”
