"PDP Rebukes Court Ruling, Alleges Political Vendetta by Kebbi Govt"

By Umar Faruk Birnin Kebbi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kebbi State Chapter has denounced a recent court ruling against Alhaji Sani Dododo, the party's Publicity Secretary, characterizing it as a prejudiced and unfair verdict orchestrated by the state administration.

At a press conference held at the PDP State Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on May 23, 2025, the party's State Secretary, Alhaji Usman Bello Suru, expressed solidarity with Alhaji Dododo and announced plans to contest the ruling in court. "The Shari'a Court 2 in Birnin Kebbi, under overt political pressure, handed down a biased and unjust ruling against Alhaji Sani Dododo," Suru stated.

"This ruling is not only a direct assault on our party but also an affront to the fundamental rights of all citizens to hold those in power accountable," he added. The PDP accused the Kebbi state government of exploiting the judiciary to suppress opposition voices and stifle dissent.

"The courts in Kebbi State, once bastions of justice, are now increasingly serving as tools for political persecution and executive high-handedness," Bello Suru asserted. The party lambasted the governor's administration, describing it as "ineffective, profligate, and direction less," and pledged to continue exposing the government's shortcomings and holding it accountable.

"We will not be intimidated," Suru declared. "Let it be known to the Governor and his cohorts that no amount of coercion, judicial manipulation, or political vendetta will deter us from speaking truth to power." The PDP reaffirmed its commitment to its mission to liberate the state from poor governance and is resolute in its determination to challenge the court's decision through legal channels.

"The Peoples Democratic Party remains the voice and hope of the people of Kebbi," Suru emphasized. "Our movement is gaining momentum, our resolve remains unwavering, and our mission to rescue this state from the grip of poor leadership remains our paramount objective."
