"Emir of Gwandu Confers Gimbiyar Matan Gwandu Title on Kebbi First Lady"

The Emir of Gwandu and Chairman, Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, has conferred the traditional title of "Gimbiyar Matan Gwandu" on Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, the First Lady of Kebbi State. The ceremony, which marked a significant milestone in the state's history, was described by the wife of the Emir, Hajiya Gimbiya Khadijah Haruna Rasheed, as unique.

The Kebbi First Lady expressed her profound appreciation to the Emir and the entire Gwandu Emirate for the honor bestowed upon her. "I assure the Emirate of my continued support and pledge to uphold the values and traditions of the land," she said.
Hajiya Gimbiya Khadijah Haruna Rasheed commended the present administration under Governor Nasir Idris Kauran for its policies and programs, which have brought about massive development and unity in the state. "I urge the wife of the Governor to continue supporting his administration," she added.

The occasion was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the wife of the Deputy Governor, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Permanent Secretaries, wives of Commissioners, wives of Local Government Chairmen, political appointees, and wives of State House of Assembly members, special advisers on international donor agencies, among others.
The event underscored the strong bond between the government and traditional institutions in Kebbi State. The ceremony was a testament to the First Lady's commitment to the people of Kebbi State and her role in promoting unity and development.
