Press Release
Pilgrims from Kebbi State, currently performing the lesser Hajj (Umrah), have commended Governor Nasir Idris and Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro Enabo. The pilgrims praised the duo for ensuring smooth transportation and providing befitting accommodation in the Holy land.
Hajiya Uwale Birnin Kebbi and Hajiya Fatima described the arrangements as "well-planned and remarkable," allowing them to fulfill their religious obligations in Madina and Makkah with ease. Alhaji Isah Assalafi from Birnin Kebbi also praised Governor Idris and Alhaji Faruk Enabo for their commitment to improving pilgrimage logistics.
"Every time we visit the Holy land for Hajj or Umrah, we witness new improvements in transportation, feeding, and accommodation. This is a testament to the dedication of our Governor and the leadership of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency," Alhaji Assalafi stated.
This marks the first time the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, under Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro Enabo, has been directly responsible for the transportation and arrangements of pilgrims for lesser Hajj. With Governor Idris' support, the agency successfully airlifted pilgrims from the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, directly to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Last year's Hajj exercise, which saw Kebbi State hosting the inaugural airlift from the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, was widely regarded as the most successful in the state's history. It received praise from Saudi Arabian authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), earning Kebbi State national and international recognition.
