Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria, April 05, 2026(Series News Online) - In a shock move, Major General Aminu Bande (Rtd) has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing lack of stability within the party as the reason for his exit.

In a letter to the Ward Chairman of PDP Nasarawa 1, Birnin-Kebbi, dated April 5, 2026, Gen. Bande announced his decision to leave the party, effective immediately.

"I write to formally tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party, effective from today, Sunday, 5th April, 2026," Gen. Bande stated. "This decision comes following deep consideration, reflection, and engagements with my associates and other stakeholders."

Gen. Bande, who was the PDP's gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 General Election, had contested against Governor Dr. Nasir Idris in a fiercely contested election that went into inconclusive.
His resignation is seen as a significant setback for the PDP in Kebbi State, with many wondering what the future holds for the party.

"Further decisions on my political endeavors shall be announced soonest," Gen. Bande said, leaving the door open for his next move.

The development has sent shockwaves through the state's political landscape, with many speculating on Gen. Bande's next move.
