"MTECH Foundation Sponsors 31 Orphaned, Less Privileged Students at Waziri Umaru Polytechnic"

Thirty-one students from Birnin Kebbi, Jega, Maiyama, and Kalgo local government areas in Kebbi State have benefited from the MTECH Educational Foundation's scholarship program. The foundation, led by Arch. Manir Musa Jega, paid over one million naira for the students' school fees registration at Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi.

The beneficiaries, who are all orphans, less privileged, and special needs children, expressed their gratitude to the foundation during an interview. They promised to graduate with good grades and give back to their community. The students also prayed for God's blessings and protection for Arch. Manir Musa Jega and solicited prayers from the general public for his well-being.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Aliyu Muhammad, Abdullahi Sulieman, Yusuf Abubakar, Ibrahim Umar, Yusuf Abubakar Chika, Nafisa Muhammad, Nura Umar, Aisha Umar Waziri, Fatima Umar, Muhammad Sulieman Hussaini, Hasiya Sanusi, and Usamatu Umar, expressed their joy and appreciation during an interview with Series News Online correspondent.

The scholarship program is part of the foundation's efforts to support needy students in Kebbi State. Recently, the foundation awarded scholarships to 450 orphans, less privileged, and special needs children across six local government areas in the state. Each beneficiary received N100,000 and will also receive hostel accommodations and upkeep allowances until they graduate.

The event, which took place on Tuesday, February 19, 2025, at the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Auditorium Hall, was attended by the state governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, the commissioner for higher education, the rector of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, the vice-chancellor of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, university dons, top government officials, and professors of international repute.

The students have commenced lectures at Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, and are eager to make the most of the opportunity provided by the MTECH Educational Foundation. The foundation's coordinators, Attahiru Shehu from Birnin Kebbi and Bilyaminu Umar from Jega, played a crucial role in facilitating the registration process for the beneficiaries.
