Gov. Ododo Calls for Improved Collaboration Among Security Agencies to Defeat Criminals

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration among security agencies operating in the state to combat crime and ensure a safer environment for citizens. This call was made during a meeting with Local Government Chairmen, members of the state's vigilante service, and professional hunters at the Government House in Lokoja.

According to Governor Ododo, the administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy for crime, and effective collaboration among security agencies is crucial to achieving this goal. He stressed that local government chairmen, community leaders, and security operatives must work together to ensure the safety of citizens.

The meeting focused on developing new strategies for improving community safety, enhancing coordination among security agencies, and reinforcing the role of local stakeholders in the fight against crime. Chairman of Yagba West local government area, Tosin Olokun, praised Governor Ododo's initiative, stating that it is a crucial step in enhancing grassroots security efforts and building synergy in the state's security architecture, particularly in remote areas.

The Kogi state government has reengineered the vigilante service and professional hunters, making them pivotal in maintaining security at the grassroots level. This effort has been supported by an enhanced welfare package, which helps combat operational challenges among security operatives.

In a related development, Governor Ododo has made significant strides in securing lives and properties in Kogi State, with a notable decrease in crime rates since assuming office in January 2024 . His administration's commitment to security has been unwavering, with efforts focused on collaboration with law enforcement agencies, community engagement, and technology-driven solutions.
