Kebbi State Governor Vows to Empower Groups, Associations for Economic Growth

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed his commitment to financially empowering groups and associations in the state for economic growth. The governor made this remark at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, while addressing thousands of supporters who held a solidarity rally in his honor on Wednesday.

"The large turnout of this crowd shows your love for me, and it is an indication that our journey is blessed," Governor Idris said. "We give glory to God, my focus now is to provide the necessary assistance to the people. We shall extend a hand of benevolence to all groups and associations, youths and women groups; every association will be a beneficiary."

According to the governor, the objective is to improve the quality of life of the people of Kebbi State. He noted that his administration has achieved significant progress in infrastructural development, transforming the state capital into a modern cosmopolitan city.

Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, commended Governor Idris' administration for its achievements in infrastructural development, particularly in roads construction, the new modern Secretariat Complex, and other facilities. "Look at the state capital now, Birnin Kebbi; Governor Nasir Idris has transformed the city into a 'small London.' Our leader is a remarkable achiever," Muslim said.

The organizer of the solidarity rally, Special Adviser to the Governor on Power and Political affairs, Alhaji Kabir Sani Giant, praised Governor Idris' performance in office, saying it has surpassed expectations. "Your Excellency, you can see that the whole of Kebbi is before you, with goodwill and support. We wholeheartedly endorse you for another tenure in 2027 in recognition of your effort to bring economic prosperity and social growth to our dear state," Kabir remarked.

Governor Nasir Idris, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, as the 9th Governor of Kebbi State, has been focused on bringing economic prosperity and social growth to the state.
