A harrowing tale of abduction and escape has unfolded in Anambra and Kogi states. Chibuike Damian Onyebuchi, a 15-year-old boy from Ihiala Local Government Area in Anambra State, was kidnapped in Onitsha, the commercial hub of the state. However, in a remarkable turn of events, he managed to escape from his captors and found himself in Kogi State.
According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, the boy is currently in the safe custody of the Kogi State Police Command. During an interview with police operatives, Chibuike alleged that he was abducted in Onitsha by unidentified persons and taken to an unknown location before his escape.
The police command is now seeking public assistance in identifying Chibuike and reuniting him with his family. Ikenga appealed to residents of Onitsha and Ihiala environs to provide any information that could aid in the identification and reunification process . A picture of Chibuike has been circulated to help disseminate his story and facilitate his safe return home.
