Kebbi State Police Command Seeks Continued Collaboration with National Human Rights Commission to End Violence Against Women and Girls

The Kebbi State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Bello M. Sani, has reaffirmed its commitment to ending violence against women and girls in the state. This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Kebbi State Coordinator, National Human Rights Commissioner, Barrister Hamza A. Wala, Esq, to the Commissioner's office at the State Headquarters, Gwadangaji, on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.

The visit was part of the 16 Days of activism on violence against Women and Girls, which commenced on November 25, 2024, and will run until December 10, 2024. This year's theme is "Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in the Context of Climate Change."

CP Bello M. Sani thanked the State Coordinator for the visit and sought the Commission's continued collaboration in investigating and prosecuting cases of violence against women and girls to a logical conclusion in the state. The CP further advised the State Coordinator to sensitize and encourage victims to continue with their cases, despite any intervention, to bring perpetrators to justice and deter potential offenders.
