In a bid to curb the rising cases of theft in Yauri town, Honourable Abubakar Shuaibu, Chairman of Yauri Local Government, has urged residents, especially those in the business of buying second-hand goods, to exercise caution when making purchases. This call to action comes at a time when the government has implemented measures to address the theft of spears and other metal products in the town.
The chairman emphasized that refraining from buying stolen goods, especially from unknown individuals, will significantly contribute to resolving the issues of theft of vehicles and metal goods in Yauri.
To achieve this, the community has been advised to take the following precautions:
Know Your Seller: Understand the origin and business of the person selling the goods.
Report Suspicious Activity: Inform security officials about anyone you suspect of engaging in illicit activities. Verify Profession: Only do business with individuals who are genuinely licensed and experienced in their profession.
The Yauri Local Government has collaborated with local security officers to tackle this problem. As a result, security personnel will increase their efforts to arrest and punish those stealing public properties, particularly motorcycles. This initiative demonstrates the local government's commitment to maintaining law and order in Yauri town. By working together, residents and authorities can create a safer and more secure environment for everyone.
