Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria–June 12, 2026 (Series News Online)–The sixth flight conveying Kebbi State pilgrims from the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia landed safely at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, on Friday at about 9:05 a.m.
The aircraft touched down with 431 pilgrims drawn from Zuru, Fakai, Sakaba and Danko-Wasagu Local Government Areas. Officials described the arrival as smooth and well coordinated.
A senior official of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board who received the returnees at the airport said logistics and screening were concluded without delay.
“By the grace of God, the 6th flight arrived at about 9:05 a.m. with a total of 431 pilgrims from Zuru, Fakai, Sakaba and Danko-Wasagu. We are grateful for the safe journey and we pray for the acceptance of their Hajj,” the official said.
One of the returning pilgrims from Zuru Local Government Area expressed relief and gratitude after the long journey.
“We thank Allah for bringing us back safely. The experience in the Holy Land was spiritual and memorable, and we appreciate the efforts of the Kebbi State Government and the board,” the pilgrim said.
Another pilgrim from Danko-Wasagu noted that the welfare arrangements during Hajj and on arrival were satisfactory.
“The coordination was good from Saudi Arabia to Birnin Kebbi. We received food, transportation and medical checks promptly. We pray that Allah rewards everyone involved,” the pilgrim stated.
Officials of security agencies, medical personnel and family members were on ground to welcome the returnees and assist with luggage and transportation to their respective local government areas.
The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board has continued to airlift pilgrims in batches since the conclusion of this year’s Hajj exercise, with arrangements in place to ensure the safe return of the remaining contingents.
