Zuru, Kebbi State, Nigeria, April 09,2026(Series News Online) - The people of Zuru and beyond gathered on Thursday to bid a final farewell to the late Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, in an atmosphere of deep sorrow and reflection.
The funeral prayer, led by Imam Suleiman Tanko, attracted thousands of mourners, including top government officials, traditional and religious leaders, and ordinary citizens, who came to pay their last respects to a man widely regarded as a symbol of humility, dedication, and selfless service.
"His death is a monumental loss to Kebbi State and the nation at large," said Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris in his condolence message. "We will remember him for his calm disposition, commitment to legislative excellence, and unwavering dedication to the progress of the state."
The late Speaker, who passed away on April 6, 2026, after a prolonged illness, left behind a legacy that resonated across all strata of society. His contributions to democratic governance and the development of Kebbi State will be remembered for a long time to come.
The Governor, the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi Sami Gomo III, and other dignitaries were present at the cemetery where the late Speaker was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
As prayers continue for the repose of his soul, the people of Kebbi State remain united in grief, drawing strength from the enduring legacy he left behind.
