Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has launched the construction of the 2.9-kilometre Ahmadu Bello Road in Gwandu town, Gwandu Local Government Area. The project is part of the governor's commitment to delivering meaningful infrastructure across the state.
"This is a historic day that will remain indelible in the history of Gwandu. The construction of this road is a promise fulfilled to the good people of Gwandu, and it is one of the legacy projects of our administration," Governor Idris said. "I want to assure the people that adequate funds have been set aside for the successful completion of the project."
The governor warned contractors to adhere to specifications and deliver quality work within the stipulated time frame. He also directed the Ministry of Works to supervise the project closely.
"The people of Gwandu are highly grateful for the numerous developmental projects executed by Governor Idris in the area," said Hon. Atiku Ahmad, Chairman of Gwandu Local Government. "The Governor has already fulfilled over 80 percent of his campaign promises to the people of Gwandu."
The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdullahi Umar Muslim, said the project was a clear demonstration of the governor's commitment to fulfilling his promises. "Gwandu is a historic town in Kebbi State, and the people appreciate the governor's efforts," he said.
Governor Idris also promised to provide a transformer to improve electricity supply in the area. The project is expected to boost socio-economic activities in Gwandu and surrounding areas.
