A top official in the Kebbi State government has resigned from office to contest in the upcoming election. Hon. Arzika Zaki, Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, tendered his resignation letter to the Secretary to the State Government on March 23, 2026.
In his resignation letter, Hon. Zaki cited the need to comply with the stipulated time frame for political appointees contesting in the election, which requires them to resign on or before March 31, 2026. "I write to resign my appointment as S.S.A to the Executive Governor of Kebbi State in line with the time stipulated for all political appointees to contesting on election to resign on or before 31st March, 2026," he stated.
Hon. Zaki expressed his gratitude to the Governor, the APC Party, and the State Executive Council for the opportunity to serve. "I will equally like to thanks His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, APC Party and all the State Executive Council for the opportunity given to me to serve under this administration," he said.
The resignation is expected to pave the way for Hon. Zaki to pursue his electoral ambitions.
