PRESIDENT TINUBU'S VISIT BRINGS JOY TO KEBBI COMMUNITY AS ROAD REJUVENATION PROJECT TAKES SHAPE

Residents and commuters along the Malando-Garin Baka-Ngaski-Wara-Auna corridor in Kebbi State have lauded President Bola Tinubu's administration for the ongoing reconstruction of the Malando-Ngaski Road, describing it as a "true dividend of democracy".

The project, which has recorded significant progress despite challenges, has improved transportation and economic activities in the area, with residents expressing satisfaction with its impact on their daily lives.

"Previously, we spent several hours navigating bad portions, especially during the rainy season. Vehicles frequently broke down and transport fares increased," said Malam Salisu Abdullahi, a commercial driver plying the Ngaski-Auna route. "Now, movement is faster and safer. Our daily income has improved because we can make more trips."

Hajiya Zainab Mohammed, a trader from Wara, echoed Abdullahi's sentiments, saying the road has boosted commercial activities and eased the transportation of farm produce to markets.

"This project has reduced our losses and created more business opportunities for our people," she said.

Alhaji Mahmuda Mohammed-Wara, former state Commissioner of Lands and Housing, commended the Tinubu-led administration for executing the project, describing it as a "laudable intervention" that has brought relief to the communities.

"I recall when Bagudu visited and assured us during the visit that the project would not experience funding challenges. He has kept his word," Mohammed-Wara said.

Alhaji Abdullahi Buhari-Wara, another former Chairman of Ngaski LGA, also commended Gov. Nasir Idris and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Atiku Bagudu, for fostering synergy between the state and federal government.

"The road is one of the most visible symbols of democratic dividends in the state, and it has enhanced connectivity, stimulated economic growth, and improved the overall quality of life in the area," Buhari-Wara said.

The road project, awarded by the Federal Government in late 2024, is being executed by Epsilon Sky Global Engineering Ltd, with substantial progress recorded despite the challenging terrain.

"The project features Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) shoulders of 2.75 metres width on both sides, and multiple box culverts and reinforced concrete drainages have been constructed to mitigate flooding and erosion challenges," said Mr Marcel Hattab, Managing Director of Epsilon Sky Global Engineering Ltd.
