APC Ward Congresses: Kebbi Governor Vows to Work with New Leaders

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has pledged to work closely with newly elected leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who emerged from the party's ward congresses conducted across the state on Wednesday.

The Governor made the pledge while monitoring the exercise alongside key party leaders, including Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning; Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero of Kebbi Central; the APC National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu; and the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru.

"We are committed to working with the new leaders to advance the interests of our party and the people of Kebbi State," Governor Idris said. "The peaceful conduct of the ward congresses is a testament to the maturity and unity of our party in the state."

The congresses, which were conducted peacefully and transparently through a consensus process, led to the emergence of executive officials for all 225 political wards in Kebbi State.

APC State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, welcomed the Governor and national party officials, stating that consensus was achieved through wide consultations with stakeholders, in line with party guidelines and the law on tenure limits.

"Consensus was reached after thorough consultations with stakeholders, and we are confident that the new leaders will take the party forward," Kana-Zuru said.

The Chairman of the Ward Congress Committee, Abdulmalik Mahmood, a former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, confirmed that the process complied fully with the APC Constitution.

"The process was smooth and transparent, and we are satisfied with the arrangements in Kebbi State," Mahmood said.

Stakeholders from Marafa and Nasarawa II Wards praised the Governor's presence and leadership, citing smooth leadership transitions through consensus.
